Fountain Grass is a popular grass that forms an upright clump of arching green leaves. The plant bears bottlebrush spikes of dark purple-black flowers that turn silvery as they dry. They are most effective when mass-planted, but they are also useful as specimen accents for gardens or when planted in containers. The leaves turn bright golden-yellow in the fall.

Instructions:
Grows easily in average, medium to wet soils in full sun to partial shade, but grows best in full sun. Tolerates part shade, but may not flower too much. May self-seed in optimum growing conditions to the extent of being considered somewhat weedy. In areas where self-seeding would be an issue, seed plumes may be removed before the seed ripens. 'Moudry' does not reliably grow from seed, and is best propagated by division. Cut foliage to the ground in late winter before new shoots appear.
