Because of its easy care, long season and varied look, this grass is a popular choice for an accent or ground cover if planted in groups. In summer, the tall, fine foliage grows in mounds but has surprisingly fragrant, fluffy panicles. As the season progresses, the green grass turns to a deep rusty gold.
