This deciduous plant is an upright, clump forming perennial that grows well in dryish soil. The fluffy, rose-purple flowers grow from an erect stalk that can reach up to three feet in height. Blooms at the top of the stalk open first and bloom downward. Stalks grow from tufts of narrow lance shaped leaves. Rough Blazing Star is tolerant of drought, summer heat and humidity.
